ITI-260 Advanced Networking Systems
4 Credit hours - 2 Lecture, 2 Lab
Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in ITI 205, ITI 206.
Course Rationale:
This is the capstone course for the IT Infrastructure program. Students will apply the knowledge and skills attained in previous ITI courses in order to demonstrate their proficiency with homogenous network systems. The course will provide practical network analysis of advanced operating systems and protocols through assigned projects. These concepts and skills will assist in preparing the student for a career in the IT industry.
Catalog Description:
This course provides in-depth coverage of advanced network operating system administration topics. This will include, but not be limited to, tasks such as installation and configuration of image deployment servers, firewalls, network storage devices, IoT concepts and devices, and emerging technologies. The class reinforces these concepts through group projects and presentations.
Course Objectives
Integrate Linux and Windows network operating systems, services, and protocols into a homogeneous network.
Conduct in-depth research to facilitate successful completion of projects encompassing current technologies in order to illustrate mastery of concepts learned in previous IT Infrastructure courses.
Demonstrate proficiency with Internet of Things (IoT) concepts and equipment.
Develop and demonstrate written and verbal communication skills through in-class writing assignments and corresponding presentations.
